Badminton (Boys – Doubles) at ATHLEEMA 2026 is an intercollege team event in Okhla, Delhi, where pairs compete in a fast-paced format that emphasizes coordination, communication, and tactical gameplay.

Rules -
All games will be played on outdoor court.
A game can take place with either two (singles) or four (doubles) players.
To score a point, the shuttlecock must hit within the parameters of the opponent’s court.
If the shuttlecock hits the net or lands out, then a point is awarded to your opponent.
Players must serve diagonally across the net to their opponent. As points are won then serving stations move from one side to the other. There are no second serves, so if your first serve goes out, then your opponent wins the point.
A serve must be hit underarm and should be below 1.15m. No overarm serves are allowed.
Each game will start with a toss to determine which player will serve first and which side of the court the opponent would like to start from.
If a player touches the net with any part of their body or racket, then it is deemed a fault and their opponent receives the point.
A fault is also called if a player deliberately distracts their opponent, the shuttlecock is caught in the racket then flung, the shuttlecock is hit twice or if the player continues to infract with the laws of badminton.
Each game is umpired by a referee who overlooks the game. The referee has overriding calls on infringements and faults.
Let” may be called by the referee if an unforeseen or accidental circumstances arises. This may include the shuttlecock getting stuck in the net, server serving out of turn, one player not ready or a decision which is too close to call.
Scoring
A point is scored when you successfully hit the shuttlecock over the net and land it in your opponent’s court before they hit it. A point can also be gained when your opponent hits the shuttlecock into either the net or outside the parameters.
Winning the Game
To win a game you must reach 11 points and maintains a difference of 2 points over the opponent. If you do so, then you will have won, the game. If the scores are tied at 11-11 then it comes down to whichever player manages to get two clear points ahead in a 3-point game.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Participation will only be confirmed after receipt of entry fee and on first-cum-first basis. The confirmation of final teams will be intimated by 23rd March 2026.
Every institute team must carry their institute’s flag with them to represent their institute in the march past during inaugural ceremony.
The final schedule of matches will be announced to the confirmed teams on the inaugural day (27th March 2026, 8:30 AM).
Decision by the Umpires, Referees and Scorers will be final.
Bonafide full time and duly enrolled students of colleges who are pursuing a full time course of study are eligible to participate in The ATHLEEMA 2026 – 13th Annual Sports Meet 2026.
If any college team is caught playing with members who are not enrolled as regular students (distance learning not eligible) of the respective institute, the team would be declared disqualified from the competition immediately.
Each participant should follow a common color scheme & style for each game as suggested by their college.
Participants are required to carry their institute’s ID Card and one ID Proof (Aadhar Card, Driving License) at the venue at all-time which can be checked randomly.
Discipline of highest order is anticipated from the participants and should be maintained at all times at the venue.
In case of protest, the team raising the protest is required to pay Rs.500/- as a protest along with documents to support protest.
Cash prize will be given only to team attaining 1st position in each game.
No replacement player will be allowed during the tournament.
All players must come with a full kit.
The competition shall be conducted as per the rules and regulations laid down for the concerned event by the organizing committee.
